My work combines the mystery of fiction with the poetry of the analogue, inviting you to travel to worlds that exist and do not exist at the same time.

Aereo is the artistic name of Ángel Soto, a visual creator based in Madrid.

His relationship with the camera began very early: at the age of five he received a small pocket-sized Sony as a gift, and by thirteen a reflex camera became the gateway to his own universe. Since then, every stage of his life has been marked by photography, which evolved from simple documentary record into an endless artistic pursuit.

Deeply influenced by the oneiric arts and by filmmakers such as David Lynch, Andrei Tarkovsky and Federico Fellini, his work combines the mystery of science fiction with the poetry of the analog. He favors celluloid and vintage lenses from the 1960s, carefully chosen for the unique character they bring to the image. Light leaks, grain, stains and veils are not flaws but living traces of a moment suspended in time—a tangible fusion between art and craft.

Educated in Photography at Arte 10 in Madrid and in Film Direction at the Metropolis school, he later founded his own audiovisual production company. In 2025, he was awarded the European Photography Awards (EPA), Gold Winner in the Conceptual category
